Golf and Family Fun

Every year in August the Kesterson family gets together with a few of Bob and Janice's oldest friends. During the day, the guys from these 4 families golf and the women work hard for their men. We women, watch the kids all day long, then cook so the men can come back to a nice meal. Yep... there is something wrong with this picture... It's always an exhausting yet fun day. Our families continue to grow each year and it's so fun to watch all the kids play. There were 4 kids all born in 2008 and they all played hard together.

(I'd like to say Beau got that wet playing with the hose, but no...it's all sweat. He played hard.)
"Hey Kate, let's hide out in these bushes. They'll never find us. Are you getting hot? I sure am."

Leah's 5th Birthday

On July 28th, Leah turned 5 years old. Kelly and Trevor had set up this huge blow up water slide and all the kids were having a blast, all but Beau. Later when Leah was opening her gifts and all the big kids were out of the pool, we saw Beau and Leah head over to the slide all on their own. Next thing we know they are all in the water, fully clothed. A first for Beau. I think he may be finally coming out of the boat and testing the waters a little.

(birthday girl)
(Beau first tried to brave the big ladder to the big slide, but didn't make it past here)
(so he tried out the smaller slide, still not quite committed to this water thing)
(then they found the water guns and the real fun began)
(their diapers were working overtime)

Old Friends, New Adventures

Jenny turned 30 a few weeks ago (get the double meaning in the title...haha). To celebrate, Jenny, Joey, Joel and I headed to San Francisco for the night. Leland and Janet got us hotel rooms and tickets to see Wicked. We had such a blast. I loved the play and it was great getting away for the night.

Before the trip, Joel spent a little time on Yelp and came across this park for children with a cement slide. People in their 30's were talking about how it's so fun and all you need to do is take your own cardboard to sit on. When we got there, a few little boys were showing us how it's done...without the cardboard. The slide didn't look like much, but once we saw the kids go down we became a little intimidated.

Joel was first, then Joey, then me, then Jenny and Joey raced. Everyone but Jenny used the cardboard. Using the cardboard turned out to be a dumb move. We flew down the slide, off the end and landed smack on our bums. I felt my brain rattle inside my head and think I may have even got a little whiplash. AND it took a week for my butt bruises to go away. Jenny was smart to go last without the cardboard. Needless to say, it is an experience we'll never forget.

I Scream, You Scream...

... we all scream for Ice Cream. Beau had his first ice cream cone the other day at Gabby's house. It took him forever to eat it. I think he was savoring every bite. Kate, on the other hand, dove right in while Leah stuck to her brownie.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Beau is a singing machine. Here is his rendition of itsy bitsy spider.

Get Up, Stand Up!

Bella is so strong, so we like to push her to her limits. Here she is standing on the couch...with a little support. Awe.

Bella's 4 Months

Bella is getting so big, so fast. As of 4 months she was 24 inches long, and 15 lbs, as compared to Beau's 24 inches long and 13 lbs at 4 months. She continues to roll over , sleep and nap well, smile and laugh and is overall a very easy baby. It looks like her hair has stopped falling out and is starting to grow again. She's got quite the duck tail growing. Her hair is very light in color and appears to be getting lighter and lighter each day, although I may be imagining things. Her eyes have turned a gorgeous brown and she's looking more and more like a toddler rather than a baby. We love our brown eyed girl.

I'm Running...

Beau loves to run. We race...Ready, Set, Go! We play Red Light, Green Light! I think Gabby's rubbing off on him. Doesn't he know I don't run. Luckily Kris and Parker came over and Parker took my place as his running partner. Usually Beau likes to say "I'm Running" while he's running, but this time he was too busy laughing.
